KITH was approached by Nike in September 2022 to create an editorial for their newest model of the Air Max:
“Introducing the Nike Air Max Scorpion in Lemon Wash by Kith. This innovative sneaker showcases disruptive design, delivering exceptional responsiveness, sensation, and cushioning. Despite the pandemic, Nike’s virtual construction process reduced the development timeline from 2 years to just 18 months using VR design software, computational design, and in-house testing. The complex-bubble sole provides unmatched Air content, while the Flyknit chenille upper offers style and comfort.”
The shoe’s name, Scorpion, is inspired by its unique sole shape. I was given the opportunity to contribute to the art direction of the editorial, and our team decided to capture the shoes in a desert scene to symbolize their essence. Additionally, I lead the design with Nike on the billboard located near Penn Station, precisely at 34th St. & 7th Ave.
